Geert Wilders sieht nicht aus wie der typische Holländer. Dafür ist er zu schlank und zu groß, der Anzug zu elegant, die Haare zu bunt. Er wirkt auch nicht wie ein Politiker, schon gar nicht wie ein „Fanatiker“, ein „Rechtspopulist“ oder gar ein „Rassist“, der seine eigenen Ressentiments auf die Tagesordnung der Politik setzen möchte. Wilders wirkt wie ein selbstbewusster Unternehmer, der sich trotz Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise die gute Laune nicht verderben lässt. Oder wie ein Golfer, der gerade ein Turnier gewonnen hat und nun im Begriff ist, zum nächsten Spiel auf die Malediven zu fliegen.

Wilders, hört man immer wieder, „polarisiert“. Viele mögen ihn, noch mehr können ihn nicht leiden, aber wohl niemand möchte mit ihm tauschen. Denn der Vorsitzende der “Partij voor de Vrijheid” und Abgeordnete der „Tweede Kamer“ des niederländischen Parlaments ist sein eigener Gefangener. Während seine Kollegen sich mittags am Matjesstand auf dem Plein treffen, bleibt er in seinem Büro sitzen. Schon ein kurzer Gang vor das Haus wäre mit einem unkalkulierbaren Risiko verbunden. Wilders wird rund um die Uhr bewacht, wer ihn in seinem Büro besuchen will, wird gründlicher als andere Besucher kontrolliert, er muss außerdem an zwei Leibwächtern vorbei, die im Flur einen mobilen Checkpoint aufgebaut haben. Dennoch ist Wilders gut gelaunt. Vor ihm auf dem Schreibtisch liegen die neuesten Umfragen. Seine “Partij voor de Vrijheid” liegt in der Gunst der Wähler auf Platz 2, vor den Sozialdemokraten und knapp hinter den Christdemokraten, Tendenz steigend. Wenn morgen Wahlen wäre, würde die PVV mit 18 bis 20 Abgeordneten ins Parlament einziehen. Ein guter Moment also, um Geert Wilders zu fragen, ob er sich vorstellen könnte, ein Moslem in Holland zu sein. Und wie er als Moslem darauf reagieren würde, was Geert Wilders über die Moslems sagt.

It is very hard for me to imagine that i am a moslem. So let’s talk about me not being a Moslem. Yes, I want to stop the immigration and support some voluntary emigration. But if Moslems who are here, who are integrating who are not committing crimes who are having education – I have nothing against them. I dont have anything against these people. You can be a liberal, you can be a conservative, you can even be a socialist, if you abide by our rules and values, there everything is fine. I can criticize the Islamic ideology, they can criticize my ideology, thats democracy and thats what is lacking in the states where the Islam is dominant. They could learn from us, not we from them. If they would separete religion from politics, not only the dissidents, then we could agree on many issues.

Es gibt inzwischen in Holland eine Organisation säkularer Muslime, die sich mit Wilders solidarisieren. Aber Wilders weiß, dass sie eine winzige Minderheit innerhalb der etwa einer Million Muslime in Holland darstellen, von denen die meisten wiederum aus Marokko eingewandert sind und ihre Traditionen mitgebracht haben. Es ist eine ethnisch ziemlich homogene Gruppe, dennoch versucht Wilders, nicht alle in einen Topf zu werfen.

The Moslems are not my enemies. Only the terrorists and the people I call the ‚street terrortists’ who are harrassing people, but Moslems as a group are not my enemies. It is the political ideology of Islam. A totalitarian ideology like fascism, like communism. This is my enemy.

Wilders, 1963 in Venlo an der deutsch-holländischen Grenze geboren, war fünf Jahre alt, als die 68er auch in Holland auf die Straße gingen. Er gehört der Generation danach an, die nun mit der Politik des Multikulturalismus abrechnet.

Who is responsible for his? Who let it happen? Who invented this multicultural society? Who did not act when something went wrong? Who is covering it up?  Who is full of appeasement instead of fighting for our values? Those are the liberals and the leftist and also – this is hard to understand – the Christian parties. You would imagine that Christian parties would fight against the islamisation of our society, they should know how a dhimmi is treated in a Muslem society but they want to be politically correct. They are responsible for the mess we are in today. We will wake up in 2o or 3o years in a totally different society. I wish we had some kind of conventional war where you can see the enemy, thats not the case now, it is going through demography, through immigration, through appeasement from the leftist-liberal elite and post colonial guilt feelings. I am not in favour of a monoculture but we are losing our identity. I am in favor of what the Germans call „Leitkultur“ – so lets have a leitkultur in Holland, too. Lets put in our constititution that we have a dominant culture. not one culture but a dominant culture. And, of course, a separation of church and state.

Anders als die Deutschen, aber ähnlich wie die Briten und die Franzosen konnten die Holländer nach dem Verlust ihrer Kolonien Erfahrungen mit Einwanderern machen. Nun aber sind die ratlos.

We are not dealing with just another group of immigrants. We are dealing with a different culture. Even the Maroccans say that people from the berber region are not the most sophisticated and educated ones. Secondly we have this enormous welfare state, we pamper the immigrants, giving them better and faster housing than to the people being on the wait list for years. We are giving them social benefits, often as high as the minimum wage.

Noch, sagt Wilders, gäbe es keine Städte in Holland mit einer moslemischen Mehrheit. Aber dies werde bald der Fall sein, es sei nur eine Frage der Zeit.

If you look at people under the age of 18, then you see that in Amsterdam and Rotterdam almost half of them is of not Western origin, mostly Muslim, in The Hague it’s 38%, in Utrecht around 40%.  We are losing on the front of demography. You need 2.1 children at least per couple to keep the population stable. We have 1.6 and the Muslim community has 2.8. We are losing this battle.

Das Ungleichgewicht, so Wilders, werde durch den Wohlfahrtsstaat noch gefördert, der Milliarden ausgibt, „to educate the uneducated who are coming to live with us“. Auch das habe vor 20, 25 Jahren niemand vorausgesehen.

25 years ago I was a young man and it is always easy to look back. But we could have seen it. Large numbers of people with the intention to stay temporarily came from a totally different culture. It could have been different if all those people would have come from New Zeeland or Germany or even China. So it is not about culture, race or colour. The Chinese are working and integrating very well. The core of the problem is, sorry for saying it, the fact that we have an Islamic tsunami coming to Europe and the political elite is giving in and giving up. I said recently in New York: One day you will wake up and you will ask yourself: Who lost Europe? And you, the Americans, will be next. Dont forget: Even President Bush said one day after 9/11: Islam ist a religion of peace. He said this on 9/12. In the Netherlands, one day after the slaughter of Theo van Gogh, the Prime Minister and the Queen went to visit a mosque.  Do you understand the message?

Es gab in Holland sogar einen Justizminister, der die Einführung der Scharia nicht ausschließen wollte, vorausgesetzt, die Mehrheit der Wähler wäre dafür.

It was Piet Hein Donner. He said that he could imagine, if there would be a majority of Muslims in the Netherlands – that was already wrong, he should not imagine but try to prevent it – then he as a democrat would accept the Sharia. Which of course is total nonsense because the beginning of Sharia is the end of democracy. Sharia is the end of our freedom. We have a Christian Democrat Secretary of State who suggested the last day of ramadan should be a national state holiday. The appeasement is going on and Netherlands makes no exception.

Das Bild, das Wilders von der Zukunft zeichnet, ist nicht Grau in Grau sondern Schwarz in Schwarz. Verschleierte Frauen prägen das Bild der Städte, der Ruf des Muezzins übertönt das Läuten der Kirchenglocken. Die Holländer, Fremde im eigenen Land, sitzen eingeschüchtert daheim, Alkohol wird nur noch heimlich hergestellt und getrunken, an Schweinefleisch mag niemand mehr denken. Im Gegensatz zu Migrationsforschern, die der Meinung sind, die Gesellschaft werde die Migranten verändert, ist Wilders davon überzeugt, die Migranten werden die Gesellschaft verändern. Und an so etwas wie einen aufgeklärten Euro-Islam mag er schon gar nicht glauben.

If you really look into the Koran, Islam is a threat in itself. Unless they write another Koran which is not very likely because the Koran ist the word of God. If you critisize the Koran you are insulting God. Therefore you will be punished, most likely with death penalty. The Islam is trapped in itself. Everyone who talks about moderate Islam or Euro-Islam is fooling himself. Hoewever, being one who makes a distinction between the ideology and the people I believe there are people who call themselves moderate muslims. But even if you acknowledge the fact that the majority of Muslims today in the Netherlands and also in Germany are not extremists - and I agree with that - because of the nature of Islam, because of the cultural implications, if you allow the immigration to continue, at the end of the day you will get a society where everything has changed - the treatment of women, of homosexuals, of „infidels“. It will all change.  Therefore it is not contradictory to say: Islam is a violent fascistic ideology, a totalitarian movement, even if I acknowledge the fact that the majority of Muslims are not crazy or violent. We should stop the immigration because if they would get the majority or come close to majority, this will change the entire society – and not for he better but for the worse.

Auch Holländer, die mit Wilders in der Analyse der Lage mehr oder weniger übereinstimmen, fragen sich, welche Lösungen er anbietet. Es ist so, als würde eine Frau im fünften Monat überlegen, für welche Methode der Empfängnisverhütung sie sich entscheiden soll. Denn auch Wilders weiß, dass niemand die Uhr zurückdrehen kann.

We have no leaders in Europe. We have only appeasers and managers. We have people who want to be friendly to one another. We have a total lack of leadership today. There is only way to deal with this problem, that is: First we have to get rid of this concept, this desease of cultural relativism. Acknowledge the fact that the Islamic ideology wants to rule. And then take measures. When it comes to immigration, when it comes to islamisation, to building mosques, islamic schools, where young people are indoctrinated. This has to be stopped. But the first step is most important. We have to begin defending our cultural heritage again, then it will be easier to take the right measures. People who support me are not racists, are not xenophobes, they do not hate, but see that the islam is an ideology that at the end of the day will kill our freedom. Lets stand up and fight against it, not against the people but against the ideology.

Wilders will in jedem Fall in der Politik bleiben. Er sagt: „I feel I have a mission“ und „I have growing support“. Dass ihn viele Intellektuelle nicht mögen, macht ihn nicht nervös, im Gegenteil. „As long as they dont like what i do, i do a good job.“ Und wie jeder Missionar ist auch Geert Wilders bereit, einen hohen Preis für die Fortsetzung seiner Mission zu bezahlen. Da er ständig Morddrohungen bekommt, muss er rund um die Uhr bewacht werden. Er ist keinen Moment allein, und wenn er mal ins Kino gehen möchte, muss die Sache sehr sorgfältig angegangen werden.

I come through the back door, nobody sees me coming in, I come five minutes after the movie started, the whole back row is empty and police is sitting on every side. I leave five minutes before the film ends. I have to plan everything in advance, I have to tell the police my agenda. I am the only member of parliament living and working under those conditions. But I am not going to give in. Because if I stop they will win. and I will never give them the pleasure that they won over Geert Wilders. Never.

(Geert Wilders, 47, ist der wohl zur Zeit beliebteste und zugleich umstrittenste Politiker in den Niederlanden.1989 trat er der liberalen “Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie (VVD)” bei, für die er zweimal ins Parlament einzog, bevor er seine eigene Partei gründete, die “Partij voor de Vrijheid”, die bei den Wahlen im November 2006 auf Anhieb fast 6% der Stimmen und damit 9 der 150 Parlamentssitze bekam. Inzwischen hat Wilders seine Gegner überholt. In den letzten Umfragen liegt seine “Partij voor de Vrijheid” auf Platz eins, vor den Christ- und den Sozialdemokraten.)
